This is modified from some code I found somewhere a year ago (can’t remember where, but the license was ‘do what ever you want’) - the original code was coded as a service but didn’t actually work, I converted it to an mvc module and it’s working well on our website/discourse instance. Putting this here so it might help someone in the future as I struggled to find anything that worked originally.
