Embedding reply_key in Javascript form

Hi folks,

I searched this forum but I was not able to find anything. I apologize if this has already been answered somewhere else.

I am curious if it is possible to get the reply_key for the purpose of making it easy for people to start or reply to a new discussion via email.

Here is the workflow I am thinking of, I hope it makes sense.

I am using discourse to power the comments section of my blog. The form loads just fine and life is good. https://levlaz.org/flashy-is-back-from-the-dead/#discourse-comments

In addition, I added a link to the top that lets people know that they can create a comment via email.

You can add a comment via [Email](mailto:levlaz.discourse+mail@gmail.com?subject=Comment for Flashy is Back From the Dead). Or use the embedded discourse form shown below:

This link uses the inbound email configuration for the site.

Right now, if someone sends a reply via email I will go and manually merge the topics.

Main Question

Is it possible to somehow get the actual reply_key and use that for the mailto link?

This would eliminate the manual step in the process of me having to go merge topics.
