I’m noticing that when I open chat on my iPhone X and go to type, the chat input box isn’t bottom aligned to the keyboard. In other words, there’s a gap there that throws me off a little. I’m able to scroll the screen down so that it will align, however, I think I expect it just to be bottom aligned.
I’m not sure if it bothers other people, I just know it bothers me I could probably fix it with CSS but I do imagine others may feel annoyed by it, too.
So this reply is a bit late but…… yes! Seeing the same thing.
When chat is open in mobile safari the gap at the bottom is fine but when opening up chat as a web view in our mobile app (which does not have safari’s control bar) this large gap appears.
Would be great if there were some way to prevent that.

That’s not the same issue. The OP has been fixed.
What you are seeing is because you have a custom app. Maybe try setting --footer-nav-height
css var to 0
in your container.

Thanks Joffrey. Will check that out.
We are using chat both in app as well as mobile web (for users who don’t have the app installed).
For mobile we it’s just fine so wondering if there’s a way to make it behave differently for those 2 use cases.

ATM we have some custom logic in discourse to show a footer and adapt the size of chat based on the presence of it or not, it’s a little bit complex, not sure we can easily make this flexible for any use case.
