Help with category and tag organisation

I need a little help with organising categories and tags.

The forum I am creating has a general theme where there will be categories for everyone related to said theme. I also want people to be able to discuss by country. I asked Google Gemini to give me some guidance. It said to have a category called locations and then have every country under that as a subcategory. There could be up to 100 countries or even more.

Is this the best way to setup for country based discussions or shoud they be setup as tags. I want it to be easy for users some of whom might not be very tech savvy.

Thanks again for pointing me in the right direction.

I didn’t know about ask discourse, very helpful. Between that and the other links I will be able to work out the best way forward…tomorrow though it has been a long day :slight_smile:
