The problem with the way this is done is that it’s implemented in the main branch (i.e., goes through the normal flow so that it’s everywhere) and then even if there are ultimately plans to revert or fix up later, the later is a lot later. Meanwhile, stuff is removed or whatever apparently for the sake of experiment.
Shouldn’t something like try.discourse.org be used to experiment with this sort of thing? With branches other than the main stuff that everyone gets?
