Can’t format inline code on a French keyboard?

Hi guys,

I tried to post inline code like this your code here (this one is pasted from ask.discourse) but on iPhone when I try to get the single backticks the keyboard systematically write this one ´ even I choose the right one, as you can see below:

How do you manage to get inline code from iOS ?

Thanks

Not sure if that’s the answer you want, as I don’t have an iPhone, so I can only share my general workaround. I usually click the and use the ‘preformatted text’ button in there. If you typed something before you use it, it adds inline code; if you use it on a new line, it adds a block. You can also type first, select the text, and use the button.

i wonder if it’s the french keyboard because i’m not so sure that is the correct back tic character on your screenshot. is there a single quote/tic button when you switch to numeric? that one looks like accents, not quotation.

i have an iphone 15 pro and did this on US english keyboard

hello world

hello world

like Moin said, you can still do it via the composer toolbar button .

Thanks.

To be honest I was wondering why there wasn’t a button in the text editor to format text, in fact you have to scroll horizontally to see this + appear! At least on iOS (iPhone 17 Pro).

I suppose this editor bar is customisable?

So easy now!
.custom {
Background: #000;
}

Yes, I think those options on the ‘abc’ French keyboard are accents, so that one is the grave one.

And the backtick one is found by long-pressing on the apostrophe button in the ‘123’ keyboard screen.
