Cannot create new lines in codeblocks in Rich Text Mode on mobile

In a codeblock on mobile, I cannot seem to add new lines by pressing Return on my keyboard.

Reproducible steps:

  1. Open the post composer
  2. Switch to Rich Text if you’re not already there
  3. Go to the ‘more’ section [the one with the circle and a plus; I forgot its actual name]
  4. Click on ‘Preformatted text’
  5. Add some text into the codeblock
  6. Try to add newlines by clicking the return :right_arrow_curving_left: key
  7. You can’t!

On Android, Samsung A14.

i can do this no problem on my iphone, so i’m guessing you’re on android. :face_with_monocle:

edit: nevermind i see what you mean - i did it the other way by typing then highlighting to pre-format the text but you’re correct, it does a full block then you’re trapped or you have to leave an empty line. :thinking:

edit 2: seems like i can just tap below in chrome on iphone. safari not so much…

In addition: if one enters a newline in a previously multiline code block, the last line will be deleted.
