This is a very strange error. I would say either docker is broken or the docker FS is busted.
Do you have two dockers installed?
To be fair all get.docker.com does is add a different repo for up to date versions. It’s still hit and miss depending on what else is on the machine.

This was merely because I didn’t know better. But no I uninstalled everything and installed docker through get.docker.com. I have now issued a reimage to ubuntu and I am gonna report my results
