Interacting with Discourse via e-mail

So I’m just poking at using openSUSE’s discourse (forums.opensuse.org), via e-mail, and I’m running into an issue, and I’m not entirely certain how to work with it/fix it. I’ve talked with the forums.o.o admins, and they’re not sure, so they suggested I ask here.

So the openSUSE Discourse top-level categories are based on language, and then there are tags underneath them. (i.e. English/Tumbleweed, Portuguese/Tumbleweed, Spanish/Tumbleweed)

Near as I can tell, the way to get all posts via e-mail is to set a Category as “Watched” and click the right boxes in my user settings in the Discourse web interface.

Problem is, I have the “English” Category marked as watched, and I recieved zero e-mails overnight (I set the watched status and changed the settings last night).

So it seems that “Watching” the category doesn’t do anything, and I need to “Watch” the tag.

The issue is with that, “Watching” the tag, Tumbleweed, in this case, means I get e-mails for every topic, in every Category, that’s tagged with Tumbleweed.

Is this something where I’m not quite understanding how this is supposed to work, or something that perhaps would require the openSUSE admins to change in the configuration, or enable a plugin or such?
