iPad Image Upload is nearly impossible in iOS8

I was using Discourse on my iPad last night and realized and I can’t upload images stored locally on the device. I’m thinking this could be a little difficult to implement. Are there plans for this feature?

You actually can upload images stored locally on your iDevice

In the composer bar, you can click the upload button and then select the Choose File button from the modal that shows up, like

I used the upload button at the bottom of the composer to add this:

EDIT Watching it happen in real-time on my laptop was a trip.
EDIT I resized the image by 1/2 after posting

This doesn’t work for me on an IPad Mini using iOS 8.2, and the built in safari browser.

When I click Choose File, nothing happens.

This happens here on Meta, and on my personal Discourse install.

Uploaded from Safari on iOS 8.2 using my iPhone 5s.

That’s a cute dog.

So I just tried it from my iPhone 5S and I get the same issue. I click the Choose File, and nothing happens. Also runnin 8.2 iOS.

ok. I see now. So the upload button in the desktop view does not work for me. But if I switch discourse to Mobile view I am presented with the different editor that has a “upload” link in the bottom right corner. That does work for me!

So ultimately I am able to upload images from iOS, just need to make sure I’m in Mobile View.

The prompt that follows clicking the upload button in the composer bar, does not work on my iOS devices.

This is a duplicate of the other iOS 8 bugs topic.

The iPad issue is severe Mobile Safari iOS8 bugs around position:fixed.

And I can confirm (as I have in the other topic) that it is nearly impossible to add an image to a topic on iPad because of these bugs.
