Leaderboards: Inconsistent link experience when 'hide user profiles from public' is enabled

For public users (if the site setting hide user profiles from public is enabled), on the leaderboards hovering over the user profiles the pointer cursor is displayed and the link to the user is not clickable.

On topic posts, badges etc. there is a link to the user profile (which when accessed then displays the expected ‘Access Denied - You must log in to view user profiles’ message.)

To be consistent with the topic posts (and to promote login), should the user profiles be linked on the leaderboards for public users? If not, maybe the pointer cursor should be removed from the leaderboard when hovering over user profiles?
