Sembra che questo plugin non funzioni con il nuovo tema ufficiale di Discourse, Horizon. Ecco come appare su Horizon (si noti che la timeline è scomparsa, ma la finestra della chat non è presente).
Se cambio il tema in Foundation, funziona ancora come previsto:
Ho controllato l’HTML/CSS e sembra che il plugin della chat venga caricato nel tema Horizon, ma il suo stile è impostato in modo tale da non essere visibile.

Horizon needed some tweaks to show the livestream chat area.
* Changed the grid … column layout when livestream is active
* Styled the live stream chat area
- Note: Making this area have rounded corners at the bottom is a lot
harder than it would seem, due to our hacky implementation for the main
outlet. Opting to leave this as-is.
* Changed how the right-side gap is provided; changing from using the
grid gap to padding.
