Massive spam using Google accounts

Help. I am currently solving the same problem for the second day.
It’s such a big problem that we had to temporarily disable registrations in the whole community :(.

Attackers use Google accounts for registrations that are automatically activated, without having to confirm the activation email (can this automatic activation be temporarily disabled for Google accounts?).

Any ideas on how to turn this off. Spammers are currently bypassing all my measures :frowning:

I think a custom field that asks some question related to your community (your favorite player, fish, statistical method) and turning on must approve users could be effective. Also akismet.
