Mobile Browser Unsupported Message After Latest Update

Dears,

After updating to the latest Discourse version 3.6.0.beta1-dev, I am facing an issue on my forum. When my members accessing the site from Safari or Chrome on iOS, users get the following message:

“Unfortunately, your browser is unsupported. Please switch to a supported browser to view rich content, log in and reply.”

This was not happening before the update.

IP 12 Pro
IOS 16.0.3

Thank you.

All else considered why don’t you just update your OS? I have iOS26 running on my iPhone 11!

Hmm this question is for him, not for me.
However, the user has JB on his iPhone.

@sam

Before bothering the co-CEO (!!) have you or your users bothered to click the link and read the communication??

Only >= 16.7 appears to be supported now.

I wasn’t aware of this change, and I hadn’t come across that announcement before—so thank you for sharing the link.

That said, there’s no need for the sharp tone. I’m simply trying to understand the issue and help the affected user. I’ll review the announcement carefully to make sure I stay updated going forward.

Did someone click the link?

Hi @xkhalid ,

While I appreciate you trying to find a solution for your users, tagging in a specific Discourse member (especially the CEO) is not the way we work here. Hence the strong reaction from @merefield

Maybe you didn’t know about that social convention on our forum, but now you do!

Furthermore, I have changed your chosen solution, as reposting the answer you received from someone else and then picking your own answer as a solution is bad form.
