Multiple forums on a single Discourse instance

I inquired about this here. Not the same thing as multisite, but related.

Synopsis: Support thousands of distinct Discourse forums on a single database (shared tables, not schemas, not namespaces).

Moving this into the feature request category. I am investigating the effort required. Would appreciate any suggestions or feedback.
