I noticed an error, if a heading starts with a number it is not taken over as a title.

yea it seems to treat the entry as a numbered bullet. i got it to work by removing the space between the number. (x.) and event text like this:
5.here is a heading
[date-range from=2023-05-09T21:14:00 to=2023-05-09T22:14:00 timezone="America/Vancouver"]
