Is this also applicable when Discourse is already running as « monosite » and one would like to convert it to multisite?

Thanks! This is still aligned with current supported multisite practice - nothing here conflicts with how Discourse multisite works today.

Yes, the same steps apply when converting an existing monosite install to multisite: a monosite is effectively a multisite with a single default site. You can enable DISCOURSE_MULTISITE, add multisite.yml (including the existing site), rebuild once, and run rails multisite:migrate in place.
