Oneboxed text localization issue

I’ve seen several instances of titles being localized inappropriately, and there have been topics opened for that, but in this reply is the first time I’ve noticed it in oneboxed text:

Those aren’t quotes. These are oneboxes, so the text is not part of my post

Ah, thanks. Edited “quoted” to “oneboxed.”
(Please advise if this is a known issue – I didn’t find it in a search.)

I am not sure I would say something is broken here. When a post contains a link, the translation contains the same link.

Example:

Post written in English:

Have you heard of Discourse? It's a great forum software. See
https://discourse.org

Translation to German:

Hast du schon von Discourse gehört? Es ist eine tolle Forumssoftware. Schau mal auf:
https://discourse.org

Where do you expect the translation of the content inside the onebox to be saved and how should it be entered during manual translation?

The customizable, scalable community platform powering over 22,000 communities. Create knowledge through conversation.

Is not part of my post

Ok, I see that it’s not an issue. Since it was all within the topic I didn’t quite see that it was normal onebox behavior. I’ll close this out.

This is something specific to resolving the URL that is pasted, for example if we paste this:

It resolves to the Spanish version of the site because the content is in Spanish.

That said, we’ve had discussions to see if there’s some way to support localizing oneboxes within Discourse sites itself.
