I’m finding the same issue with the latest Chrome browser on Ubuntu. I’m not sure if I’d ever tried pasting an email address into that form before, but I’d expect it to be possible.

I can reproduce this here on Meta (Chrome on Windows). There’s also a small #ux issue - the text is cut off.
