Fausto_Dassenno is seeking to make a private category visible to non-members, but restrict their ability to read topics, instead prompting them to request access to the associated group. ondrej suggested the Discourse Category Lockdown plugin, despite it being marked as broken. However, davidkingham shared that he has been using the plugin in production for over a year without issues, giving Fausto_Dassenno confidence to try it.
Hi, I designed an integration between my WP blog and a Discourse installation. I then want to have multiple private categories. In order to do so I created private groups and used those to manage access to the categories.
Question:
what if I want Category “A” to be visible ( not reading the topics, just seeing that exists ) and when a non-member clicks on it he/she is prompted with a messagge that drives him/her to the “Request access” page for the group?
