Steps to reproduce:

  • Visit a topic you have already read, or ensure in another way that you start at the bottom. The topic needs to contain more than 20 posts.
    You can use, for example, Refinements to search being tested on meta - #31 by volanar
  • Jump to the first post because you want to reread the topic (you can use the timeline or the title).
  • Read all the posts until you are at the last post again and notice that the related topics have vanished.

I’ve just noticed this again at New and improved /about page is live. This happens very easily in categories where you land on the first post after reading the whole topic like announcements . The step of jumping to the first post happens automatically.

Exact repro is:

  1. Have zero unread or new topics.
  2. Visit a topic with more than 20 replies from post #1
  3. Scroll to the bottom, no “related topics”.

I meant to catch it, but it is not.

This may be a client side bug where the data lives in the serializer but is not being rendered.

Even if you have unread topics the related topics tab is missing
