How to resolve this as significant drop of 200-300 visits because of the link issue?

If the pages are not publicly accessible then I’m afraid the crawler cannot see them to index them.

Have you recently moved them to a private area?

It might have been publicly accessible as page as it got traffic, but maybe some URL changes happens from @Discourse side and now not availble. However it contributed in traffic drop and SEO ranking.

No change on discourse site or moving to any private area. Same setup from last 2 years at least.

Is it anything to do with /t i.e. topics to /u i.e. user-related post like preferences from @discourse side? Hence link is broken? @JammyDodger

Those links are broken AFAIK. These are missing ID. There is something funny going on too. When I tried do a search I got thise:

safe mode seems to work so perhaps you would like to check out plugins, components and themes?

When I use either Google or your site search, the query
updating your automationedge community profile yields no results.

Where are you getting these URLs from?

The links you shared do not contain the topic ID. Usually, links are made of /t/{title}/{topic_id} because even when you edit the title, the ID does not change, so Discourse still knows which topic is meant.

@Moin @Bas @JammyDodger - These links shown in traffic dropped section of SEO tool. These links are surely broken or non-existant as per your search.

Good find @Jagster - How to use safe mode to get the issue?

Which SEO tool? How reliable is this tool?

Why do you think it thinks that these links should exist?
Are you sure these links were ever in Google?

@Bas “Ahref” SEO tool, one of the topmost, crawled these links earlier and shown some traffic, but now dropped as not accessible/broken link.

Do you have the links to the live topics? I’ve tried to search your site but can’t seem to find those topics.

Are you sure the issue is related to the configuration of that forum? I am rate-limited by search very often, also here on Meta. A new search is triggered after every character you enter, so when the search term is longer and you are not typing fast, it happens frequently.

Quite sure because it happened right way when I was just fixing one typo. And that hasn’t happend ever before, not in here either. But it worked on safe mode. So?

Ahref… perhaps is better that I don’t say what I think that so called SEO tool but it is totally sure it hasn’t got content of those two links. Those aren’t worked ever.

Are you using some redirecting gizmo?

@JammyDodger Live topic is here - Darshan Hiranandani : How can we determine the success of our IT process automation efforts through metrics and KPIs? - Get Help & Discuss / Process Studio - AutomationEdge Community Forum - Robotic Process Automation & IT Automation

In safe-mode too, links are not accessible and as per one observation above the link does not have topic-id. What could be the issue here?

Usually to fix it Discourse need to provide and redirect to new URL so that broken links may not create any issue? What we can do here?

Of course not because those links are broken. If you want them work you have to fix them.

All others issues was fixed when safe mode was on.

That topic doesn’t appear to be connected to the original examples?

Ultimately, if a link doesn’t have a topic id then it’s not a valid link (it only looks like one). I think there is some attempt to match on topic title, but as soon as the title is changed then obviously that won’t work.

It’s not clear to me where you’ve found those links.
