In the main page, if we click latest or top, we get:

while trying to load /latest.json?ascending=false
Error code: 500 Internal Server Error
But if we are already in a category, we click latest or top, it works fine:
How about in Safe Mode?
The problem is still there.

Have you disabled all third party plugins and rebuilt?
Safe mode doesn’t eliminate all plugin functionality.
Does anything show up in yoursite.com/logs after triggering this error?
