I operate a forum that attracts a lot of contentious conversations, and slow mode has been a great help for keeping conversations productive and civil.
I’d love to be able to let users set slow mode on their topics by tagging them as “slow”. That would make it easier on moderators, who try to proactively set slow mode, or reactively set it when a topic has already gone off the rails. It would also give users a little more control over the type of conversation they are starting.
I think it’d be a good feature. And I don’t know what I don’t know, but since slow mode can be set per-topic, and tags can trigger other functions (e.g. watched topics), maybe not such a heavy lift?
