Setting up Trust Levels along with Groups

I was playing around with the settings and trying to figure out how you might setup a Discourse that has multiple user groups. We are setting this up for a dual sided marketplace (think Uber with Riders and Drivers) and then we have a support team.

For the our riders/drivers, we are using groups and the groups drive the trust levels. This works fine. For my support team, they are getting overwhelmed when joining our Discourse because they are exposed to so many topics from the start. I was trying to figure out how to make onboarding easier for them by blending trust levels and groups. It doesn’t seem like it’s possible… but I wanted to essentially only show certain “internal” categories based on their trust level.

For example:
Internal Category: Access group - Internal
Internal Subcategory 1: Access group - Internal and Trust Level 0, 1, 2, 3, 4
Internal Subcategory 2: Access group - Internal and Trust Level 1, 2, 3, 4

  • Trust level 1+ can create/reply/see

Internal Subcategory 3: Access group - Internal and Trust Level 1, 2, 3, 4

  • Trust level 1 can reply/see
  • Trust level 2+ can create/reply/see

Any ideas on how you might do this? Or how you’ve seen onboarding simplified when new internal users are joining a big forum.

Thanks in advance.
