Is anyone running a sports community and using the calendar features?

Can you post a season schedule on the calendar, use that topic for discussion and chat for that game?
An ignorant question as I am not using the calendar for my community today and looking to learn how others might be using the calendar features.

hi Geoff! i use the calendar for a schedule on one of my forums (for football). i’ve used it in the past with links to game discussions and pool results, but not doing the links this season because i don’t have time to keep it up (although i suppose i could probably train a bot to do it). it works pretty well. i actually exported an official league schedule then got a bot to populate the calendar with the game dates and times, so it was pretty easy to setup.

Do you believe using the calendar drove engagement any differently (better or worse)?
not really no. the site is always quite active with the regular users that have been members for years. i don’t think many used the links when i was populating the calendar, but i know that some use the calendar schedule itself to see when game days/times are. i have the calendar schedule linked in the sidebar for everyone.
