Not my thread, but this video autoplayed for me, MacOS 10.14.5 Chrome 75.0.3770.100
Autoplays in Edge, but not Firefox or Chrome for me on Windows.
The Billy Madison video autoplays for me in current Chrome on Mac (10.14.5).

Same with latest Chrome on Windows.
Autoplayed for me too in the Discourse Hub iOS app.
It autoplayed for me in Firefox 67.0.4 on Windows 10 Pro

On mobile it doesn’t play in-frame, iOS fullscreens it. That’s truly repulsive.

The video contains the autoplay tag. If it will be autoplayed depends on the browser and the user engagement with the website
If you usually play video in a URL means that the browser will be more willing to respect the autoplay tag
