The discussion is about the Summary E-Mails feature, specifically whether it’s possible to manually change the posts included in the summary email. pipogorosito asked this question, citing the concern that toxic or violent posts with many comments might become “Top Topics” and be included in the summary.
pfaffman and Stephen responded, stating that while a plugin could potentially offer this functionality, it’s not currently available. They suggested that moderation is the best solution to this problem, recommending that moderators unlist or close such topics to prevent them from being included in the summary email.
I was creating a forum and I found the summary email, and I was wondering if it is possible to manually change the posts contained in the summary email.
Since, for example, a post that becomes very toxic or violent can have many comments and become a “Top Topic” which I do not think is appropriate. Thank you very much.
You do get a chance to manually influence what’s captured in the summary - by moderating your community. We’re talking about a system here which sends emails that summarize based on activity, so if your moderators are doing their job then this issue can’t arise.
