The emoji :t2: suggestions have stopped working

( further to: Emojis autocomplete issue with "emoji autocomplete min chars" > 0 )

I’ve noticed the :t2: skin tone suggestions stopped working a while ago, even on here on meta :+1:t2:

A single colon starts the suggestions fine:

Then I press Tab or click the suggestion I want.

I then type another colon to change the skin tone.

Put I get no prompts or suggestions now:

If I manually type in the skin tone it does actually display correctly.

Tried on Safari on an old 2011 MacBook, iPhone XR and an iPad. Also tried on Chrome browser.

@joffreyjaffeux any ideas what happened here?

Confirmed this is not working everywhere including Firefox.

When you type: :woman_artist:t no autocomplete pops up, I vaguely recall we used to have one pop up in the past.

There has been multiples fixes recently on how we handle punctuation in composer and what it triggers. Not sure who worked on this, but this is very likely related.

That would have been :point_right: :point_left: :point_up::point_up_2: ME :crazy_face:

I went ahead and fiddled with the regex a bit more and I think it is a bit better now.
