This can be done today in a theme component if one wishes. I know 100% that @codinghorror would be 100% against, by default, popping up a JIT every time an admin hits the delete button.
A JIT on every delete would heavily discourage admins and mods from pruning the garden cause there is constant added friction.

Pop the composer filled with a DM to the person, official warning = yes.
(obviously the post itself would have a red background too from the moderator just now deleting it, I don’t have a test instance anymore to use for this!)
Unless we can include the original deleted message it’s not going to be particularly helpful.
Are we expecting the user to remember all of their posts in the topic and identify which was removed?
If it does include the original message then we’re still talking about rebranding delete as ‘move to PM’.
If it is a theme component that is fine but I would not ship this by default.
I also think that this added friction is not necessary and neither does it make sure that people get notified. There should be friction for not sending a notification, not the other way around.
Depois de seguir alguns links, estou descobrindo que, por padrão, não há nenhuma notificação enviada às pessoas quando um de seus posts é excluído!?? (mesmo que nenhum motivo seja fornecido). Pessoalmente, acho isso desrespeitoso com elas (digamos que seja apenas minha opinião).
O atrito será muito maior quando os usuários notarem que alguns de seus posts foram excluídos. E alguns inevitavelmente notarão em algum momento. Então eles se perguntarão quantos posts foram excluídos. Eles ficarão irritados, especialmente por não terem sido sequer informados. É nesse momento que o suposto “atrito” de avisos amigáveis parecerá, em retrospecto, uma ideia realmente boa 
Algum feedback de usuário. Isso acabou de acontecer comigo pela primeira vez. Foi em um tópico onde a postagem foi sinalizada pela comunidade e recebi uma notificação sobre essa ação, mas ao clicar no link da notificação para acessar minha postagem, fui levado para a postagem que veio depois da minha. A minha sumiu e agora o tópico perdeu o contexto. Isso significa que um administrador removeu um registro do banco de dados subjacente ou a interface permite exclusões tão nebulosas? Obrigado por qualquer resposta.
A segunda opção. É sobre isso que trata este tópico. Nenhum dado é removido do banco de dados, então seu post ainda está “lá”, apenas não é exibido.
