Troubleshooting S3 Uploads: Site hangs after rebuild, JS assets fail to load with net::ERR_... on both R2 and GCS

the site hangs on the initial loading screen (the blue spinner).

Did you include bit to upload those assets to S3?

In order to store Discourse static assets in your Object Storage add this configuration on your app.yml under the hooks section:

  after_assets_precompile:
    - exec:
        cd: $home
        cmd:
          - sudo -E -u discourse bundle exec rake s3:upload_assets
          - sudo -E -u discourse bundle exec rake s3:expire_missing_assets

If you don’t do that, none of the assets are on S3 and the site won’t load.
