Is there a way to turn off “auto grid images”? :thinking: re: https://github.com/discourse/discourse/commit/7a936da05c0a73f96d0a69391310662be5bbd1d9

Hey @Richie , thanks for checking in. We have work planned to let admins turn this feature off in their communities, but it has not started yet. I’m not sure when this will be picked up; we have other in progress work to complete before we can turn to this. We’ll be sure to check in here though once …

Or a way to change the number of images attached before it auto grids them? I can’t seem to find anything relating to this setting in the admin control panel.

I really really really want to get a setting to turn this off. And I’m not alone, because every active users of mine dislike big time grid/masonry view.

The MIN_IMAGES_TO_AUTO_GRID variable is in /app/assets/javascripts/discourse/app/lib/uppy/composer-upload.js const MIN_IMAGES_TO_AUTO_GRID = 3; if (this.#consecutiveImages?.length >= MIN_IMAGES_TO_AUTO_GRID) { this.#autoGridImages(); } I suspect that because the MIN_IMAGES_TO_AUTO_GRID number i…

Hello :waving_hand: I also would like to ask to keep it behind a site setting. I like it but the way it works not really. I mean with adding the [grid][/grid] tags, people can easily break the images grid view. I understand why this is important, but we just don’t have enough time to fix these brok…

Thanks for all the feedback shared here so far — we’ll chat about this internally and I’ll report back! In the meantime, please feel free to continue to share insights on how this is working out (or not!) in your community.

I like it, ive been using the grid function for sometime

This seems like a very obvious thing to have in the settings. I’ve recently updated my site without knowing this was pushed and after one day I’ve already seen the [grid] text show up in posts because people don’t have the technical understanding of what it’s doing or what it means. I’ve also receiv…
