Hi, two of the users on my forum have just told me that they can edit other users’ posts although they don’t have moderator status. How is this possible?

Trust level 3 can edit other people’s post title
Trust level 4 can edit other people’s complete post
If a Post is Wiki, TL1 & above can edit it

Did you check their trust level?

This makes sense, they both have trust level 4.
