Using server and headphone icon in plugin

Hello,
when using the plugin discourse-mumble, one needs the two icons “server” and “headphones” available in the general icon set. I’m unsure whether the code style of the plugin is good in that respect, but what can I do if I want to fix this? Can a plugin add to the icons? Shall I inline the icon? I can of course patch this into discourse itself, but is this a good idea? Any references welcome.
