The discussion revolves around the desire to edit a user’s full name from the admin page in Discourse. watchmanmonitor initially requested this feature, citing the inconvenience of having to visit both the admin page and the user’s page to make changes. watchmanmonitor mentioned that a related issue was almost fixed for Discourse 1.4.
Later, Owen_Smithyman asked if the feature was ever implemented, as they need to edit users’ full names but can’t do so from the admin page. codinghorror replied that users can edit their own full names from their regular user page, but watchmanmonitor argued that it would be more convenient to have this option available in the admin side.
codinghorror suggested submitting a PR to implement the change. Ultimately, watchmanmonitor reported that the feature was added via a PR, thanking @nbianca for their contribution.
At the moment, in order adjust many users to meet new requirements, I need to visit the Admin page to set a title, and the user’s page (as admin) to edit their full name.
I’d love to see Full Name on the admin page, and editable, please.
