Advanced Search Filters: Posts by Group
A feature request was made by gassim to include the ability to select posts from a certain group in the advanced search filters. JammyDodger suggested using the query parameter group:GROUPNAME to achieve this. Additionally, gassim requested the ability to exclude users from specific groups and gassim asked for a way to filter topics where the original poster (OP) is from a specific group.
Jagster inquired about a list of all in: options for advanced search, and JammyDodger suggested using in:first to filter topics by OP. gassim found this solution helpful.
The discussion concluded with gassim and JammyDodger agreeing that a centralized list of advanced search keywords would be beneficial.
In the advanced search filters, one option is to search using ‘posted by’ but this option doesn’t allow one to select posts from a certain group. For example, all posts from members in the trust_level_3 group.
I don’t think this is a feature nor is it technically a bug, so I’m posting it here as a feature request!

I think you can use group:GROUPNAME to search all the posts posted by a certain group?
The group_messages:GROUPNAME one is for searching group inboxes.

I was interested in this topic because I was pretty sure I had achieved search by group here one day, but I couldn’t figure out how to do it again 
I must have done it empirically…
The API doc doesn’t mention this query parameter. It might be nice to add it!

While using the filter, I found out that I have users in other groups that I want to exclude. So I want the search to show from group A except those in group (staff) 
I hope it works but if it doesn’t then I understand we probably need to use Data Explorer for this case
I got back to this as I’m now using it again and when I use the group filter it shows all posts from that specific group (as you explained), but is there a way to filter out the topics i.e. the OP should be from the group. I know it’s possible using Data Explorer but again it would be helpful.

If I make this topic a bit wider, but staying in advanced search do we have a list of all in: options or are those just same what we can choose at advanced search page?

I don’t think we currently have one of those. It’s been mentioned a couple of times, and is on one of my many lists, but I haven’t got to it yet. I agree it would be good though.
