A user (kyler) is trying to increase the max file upload size on their site but encountered issues after editing the config file. Another user (jfmgonzales) provided two methods to edit the discourse.conf file: by SSHing into Discourse or by copying and editing the file on the host server. After editing, nginx needs to be reloaded with docker exec discourse nginx -s reload.
However, jfmgonzales later updated that there’s a simpler way by adding upload_size: 5000M to the .yml configuration file. diogocsc asked how to find the IP of the Discourse container, but no direct answer was provided. sam pointed out that the solution is documented in the Meta Discourse tutorial.
You can SSH into discourse while you’re SSH’ed into your Droplet. From there, you could nano /etc/nginx/conf.d/discourse.conf and edit the file directly.
Or I guess you could also copy the file from inside discourse to your host server,
