Because this setting is not visible for default Discourse user groups, we’ll have to create and manage a separate moderator user group and abandon the auto-generated user group.

Yeah, I wonder if using a hardcoded email address can work for these default groups.

So your feature request would be to be able to see and toggle the incoming email value for default groups, and it’s OK if it’s a fixed value:
