Frequent Error 500 after searching

AI-generated summary

Users are experiencing frequent 500 and 504 errors while browsing the Discourse Meta forum, even without actively searching or composing posts. The errors seem to be linked to the semantic-search endpoint of the Discourse AI plugin gormus, and gormus provided screenshots of the error reports, specifically noting errors related to the Discourse AI plugin. Moin initially reported the issue, sharing a GET request that triggered the error, and continues to experience the problem Moin. patrickemin and patrickemin confirm experiencing the errors while searching, and JammyDodger also sees the errors while simply browsing. The errors appear as random pop-up modals.

GET https://meta.discourse.org/discourse-ai/embeddings/semantic-search?q=Admin permission themes

Another 504:

I’m also getting 504 errors as modals:

more on those 500s and 504s…

this time it’s the Discourse AI plugin:

I should note than I am only browsing and reading topics ATM; not searching or composing any posts. These modals just pop up randomly AFAIK.

It still happens
