It would be nice if when I open the composer it would autofocus and open the keyboard on iOS as well.
The preview side is misaligned for me on iOS.
Maybe it’s just me, but I prefer having the composer at half-height when the keyboard is closed, as I need to quote different things from a post above, but this makes it harder - I have to collapse the whole composer instead.
It works fine, can’t reproduce any bug. Also, seems very good for ios as the jump was laggy there I guess.
On a smartphone, things look good to me. However, on tablets, I am less sure.
First, when I start a reply, the composer area is quite small (screenshot from a 12.9“ iPad below), definitely smaller than it needs to be.
But when I enter the text box and start typing, the composer goes fullscreen as for my iPhone, which is not really needed IMO (and there’s also no obvious means to resize it to half size - which is probably intended).
I’m with you, Nate, but I like to use desktop for this kind of interaction.
I think that full screen is mandatory for a clean experience on mobile; one can tap to read previous posts.
Yes, the tablet experience is lacking atm and has a whole bunch of other things “going on” that I need to look at to optimise things. It def needs a different approach.
Would it be possible to have the option for both? I like the full screen for reading back, but I also like the half screen for inserting quotes and comparing my answer to the post I’m replying to. At the moment, when I minimise it places the cursor to the end of the composer text, and pops the quote there (when I wanted to put it mid post).
Could I have a button that toggles half screen/full screen (& minimise)?
No sorry, really not planning that. It’s already crowded enough as-is.

I like the half-composer for this too. I like the option of having both my bit and the thing I’m replying to next to each other without having to flick between screens. I think it helps me double-check what I’m saying is relevant and I’m replying to what was said and not just what I think someone said [1]

Not yet! It’s still experimental for now, but I’m planning on moving in into core very soon and then it will be available everywhere.

이 변경이 의도된 것인 줄 몰랐는데, 모바일에서 경험하는 부분이 나한테는 훨씬 나빠졌어요. 작성한 내용을 검토하려면 왜 꼭 전체 화면으로 작성을 해야 하나요? 이미 그런 용도로 미리보기 버튼이 있는데, 그것도 같은 기능을 하면서 더 잘 해주거든요. 이제 답글을 달고 있는 게시물과 내가 쓴 내용을 비교해서 확인하는 게 훨씬 어려워졌어요. 내 텍스트(전체 화면 작성창)만 보거나, 상대방의 텍스트(작성창 최소화)만 볼 수 있을 뿐, 둘을 동시에 볼 수 없으니까요.
제가 답글을 달고 있는 게시글을 렌더링하는 Theme 컴포넌트를 만들어서, 작성란 바로 위에 표시하도록 실험을 조금 해보았습니다. 하지만 여러 게시글에서 텍스트 조각을 순차적으로 인용하고 싶은 사용 사례를 완전히 커버하지는 못했습니다.
전체 화면이 아닌, 줄바꿈이 추가될 때마다 확장되는 조정 가능한 작성란 텍스트 영역을 더 선호합니다.
답글을 작성할 때, 스마트폰의 매우 제한된 공간을 고려할 때 빈 작성란을 전체 높이로 여는 것은 분명히 최선의 선택이 아닙니다. 아래 스크린샷과 빨간색 표시를 참고해 주세요.

이 주제를 놓쳤는지 모르겠지만, 이건 꽤 짜증나는 변경 사항입니다. 예전에는 키보드를 접어서 사용자들의 인용문 등을 복사하곤 했는데, 지금은 작성 창을 완전히 닫지 않는 한 사실상 불가능합니다. 이건 훨씬 더 나쁜 UX일 뿐만 아니라, 소프트웨어를 사용하는 데 다른 여러 측면에서도 제약을 줍니다. 이 기능을 선택적으로 만들 수 있는 방법은 없을까요?
