WP Discourse is not tested with WordPress 6.9

AI-generated summary

miednr raised a concern regarding the WP Discourse plugin displaying a warning in Easy Updates Manager that it has not been tested with WordPress 6.9. They questioned why other plugins are already compatible and requested an explanation or an update to enable automatic backups. zogstrip initially responded that the plugin receives minimal maintenance because the team does not use WordPress 6.9 themselves, implying compatibility is only addressed when issues arise. However, angus clarified that the plugin is fully compatible with WordPress 6.9 and is currently running on live sites using that version. He explained that the Tested up to metadata will be updated in the next release to reflect this compatibility. miednr thanked the team for the clarification and expressed satisfaction with the assurance of continued maintenance.

Hello, I am using Easy Updates Manager Premium for updating my WordPress core, plugins, themes and translations.

It shows the red warning, that WP Discourse is not yet tested to work with WordPress 6.9. Is this planned and will your plugin receive compatibility with WordPress 6.9?

Please be so kind to explain, why many other plugins are already compatible with WordPress 6.9 and yours isn’t, yet. Maybe there is a good reason for that, I would like to understand. Otherwise, please consider to gain compatibility. This would allow others and me to use automatic backups again.

Thank you!

Main reason is that we don’t use it ourselves so it only receives minimal maintenance from us when things break.

Hey guys, I’d gently push back on the suggestion the plugin is not maintained. The plugin is compatible with Wordpress 6.9, and is currently running on sites running Wordpress 6.9. We will increment the Tested up to metadata in the next release shortly.

Thanks for both answers. Second answer by @angus sounds great! Looking forward to a continued maintenance.
