Wonder when this was changed. Over the years I have fixed members accounts by changing Email address as admin. It is handy for fixing an account when a mod unscrupulous or accidentally anonymized a member.
So can this b fixed in the app yml to restore admin access in the UI? As admin accounts should be properly secured if one is diligent
That being said Discourse should allow Admin Tiering for better granular control of Admin functions. (Old discussion). A top admin account is ideal for having full power/control. While some may only need access to theming.
