Hi all, The calendar for all the ~1200 of my users at awg.osdr.space is down I saw there was some sort of new release? Here is what me and everyone else is seeing. Please help ASAP [image]

I resolved it. Posting the fix for anyone else hitting this after updating to 2026.8. Root cause: Our site (Communiteq-hosted) {EDIT by OP/RS later - I WAS WRONG; site hosted by Discourse } updated to Discourse 2026.8.0-latest.1, which bundles Calendar and Events into core. After the update, the Events plugin showed as Enabled at admin/plugins, but the discourse post event enabled site setting was off. This caused a server-side 404 on /discourse-post-event/events.json and the “page doesn’t exist” error on /upcoming-events for all users. Fix: Re-enable discourse post event enabled in site settings. Calendar and all events repopulated immediately. No data loss since events live in topic posts. Flagging for the team: the enabled state of this setting may not be carrying over during the core-bundling migration. Worth checking whether other sites updating to 2026.8 will hit the same thing.

Indeed, it seems this site is hosted by discourse.org Thanks for reporting this @Ryan_Scott and sorry for the confusion, we can look into this.

[image] RGJ: Also, the calendar plugin has been bundled into core since over a year. I think the calendar plugin was renamed to “events” recently. That’s why it might seem like a new plugin.

Yeah, I was wrong. Indeed, https://awg.osdr.space/ is hosted by Discourse  The fix was as simple as as toggling the plugin on Admin page I was away from the site for ~12 hours, and in that time, the Calednar plugin update didnt automatically update the site, so had number of messages from users asking where did their calendar go  @awesomerobot All good now. Thanks @Discourse

Calendar down? The calendar for all my users is down. Pretty big deal

Fortunately not a complicated issue — we’ve identified and applied a fix for this that will prevent it from happening as sites update.
