AlexL reported that group owners, who are also moderators, cannot invite users to join a specific group through the invite dialog, as the group name field is only available to admins. This limitation also applies to adding users to groups through the Admin/Users menu.
AlexL emphasized the need for this feature, which was acknowledged by sam and AlexL provided a UI mockup of the desired functionality.
The issue has been addressed, and tgxworld confirmed that group owners will be able to add users to groups when inviting users through a GitHub pull request.
Regarding the Admin/Users menu, tgxworld clarified that it is not possible for moderators to add users to groups through this menu, which is a design choice rather than a missing feature. dax supported this explanation, highlighting the different roles of moderators and group owners.
Additionally, tgxworld pointed out that group owners can also add members to their group through the http://<your site>/groups/<group name>/edit page.
Group owners (who are also moderators in my setup) can send out invites to a forum, but when doing that, they cannot set up adding the invitee to the group they own, the group name field is not available on the invite dialog. Only admins have that field shown.
Also, when using Admin/Users menu, moderators who are group owners cannot add a user to the group on that page. Right now the only way for group owners to add members to their group is through the Admin/Group menu. Am I missing something or is that a missing feature?
Or maybe instead of the text field it could be a drop-down list pre-populated with all the groups the user is designated as Owner and also the option None.
