The discussion revolves around the autobot plugin, which is no longer working due to the removal of simple_rss from Discourse core. schungx is looking for someone to pick up the plugin and modify it to work again. codinghorror clarifies that autobot was never an official plugin and suggests that fixing it should not be difficult.
After some discussion, jamesmarkcook offers to take a look at the plugin, but notes that it may take some time. schungx confirms that the plugin is not crucial and can wait.
In the meantime, merefield suggests posting in Marketplace to find someone to fix the plugin, and gdpelican provides a link to a topic that may help with the fix.
Well, simple_rss is removed from core (I believe yesterday).
Plugin autobot no longer builds.
Is someone interested in picking up the plugin and modify it to work again now that it gets unsupported all of a sudden. Well, not very suddenly, as we had, what, weeks of warning. But IMHO it is still bad form to terminate an official plugin suddenly and render it not working without caring for a smooth transition.
I don’t use this plugin myself so I’ll get to it when I have some free time. Unlikely to be within the next two weeks though as I have prior engagements.
If you need it done before then then I’d suggest posting in Marketplace
