A new trust level: The Helpful member?

Still absorbing things here …

Trust level 4

Might that include enhancement to the dialogue that appears in response to a click on the flag? (I see multiple topics of interest.)

Edge cases at lesser trust levels

Yep, that is true for the vast majority of situations. In my relatively limited experience.

The cases I think of are rare – and succinct (to the point where a reader might treat such posts as negligible) – but worth mentioning because some such cases can give rise to contortion.

If my writing about this seems obtuse, it’s because I refrain from drawing to attention to the cases; sorry. It does require more thought so for now, file it under “rare” and not significant to current discussion

One of the endearing things about humans is that they can represent and recognise the edge cases better than an Algorithm.

Our users don’t use the like button much. But they know who the “good uns” are.

  • Title: None, but this badge highlights early distinction.

Why Would This Be Useful?

For the members that might be valuable, yet infrequent in visits, this will allow some Regular “Superpowers,” while keeping out-of-context-ness to a minimum.

For the new users who are dedicated, but have not spent enough time yet to become a regular, this quicker option can help them help, while keeping Regular status intact.

For the Regular Users who have been dedicated, but were demoted by the system, they can still carry on with most services that would not directly affect the service.

I believe that these dictations and ideas might be useful in the creation of a Trust Level 2.5.

Grammar Police

I don’t know, Slime decisions ARE kinda my thing…

  1. Some other possible names could be; The Trusted Member; The Contributor; The Helpful Member; The Trustworthy Member; The Patron; The Veteran ↩︎

  2. These would apply because, not knowing much about the current situation, affecting new users or renaming posts might not be practical. ↩︎

  3. If the said Regular was banned for more than 12 months elapsed, or silenced for more than 18 months elapsed, or banned/silenced permanently, the Outstanding Member Status would not be awarded ↩︎

  4. Both Items Mentioned Later ↩︎

  5. However, 5 of the said days must be sequential ↩︎

  6. These might seem harsh, but determining which new users are dedicated and good members of the community is important. ↩︎

  7. The Outstanding Member status can still be earned after a member’s first 100 days. However, the original, “Outstanding!” Gold Badge would not be awarded, but the regular, “Outstanding” Silver Badge would be awarded instead. ↩︎
