Accept emails from anonymous users with no accounts *for a Group*

After encountering the issue described in Unable to post by email by unregistered users, I was led to believe that I should configure our public support email address for a group rather than a category. However, I noticed a difference between configuring a custom incoming email address for a group vs a category.

For categories, I have the option to accept emails from anonymous users with no accounts.

However, I don’t have this option when configuring a Custom incoming email address for a group.

Is this not possible for groups?

I just tested this and it appears that the group can indeed receive emails from anonymous users with no accounts even though the option doesn’t exist when configuring the custom incoming email address for the group. I found this a bit confusing but I’m elated that it works! :sweat_smile:
