Could you go into a little more detail about why you like this idea, what your use case would be, and so on. Adding ‘+1’ isn’t all that helpful and doesn’t tend to progress the discussion.
Indeed, if you read our forum guidelines we encourage using the Like button in those situations where you’re only adding a ‘+1’
Rather than posting “+1” or “Agreed”, use the Like button.

OK - fair enough!
Currently the Top Contributors leaderboard is fairly static, and as a new user, you stand little chance of getting on the userboard - it’s dominated by users that have been on the site for a long time!
If you were able to configure it to show top contributors in the last week, or top contributors in the last month, this would give a much better view of who the top contributors actually are at “the moment” rather than just cumulatively since the discourse instance was installed.
