Hello,
I was trying to add a new tag with special characters like “+” (plus) for adding a tag called “c++” but it does not let me to add it (rather it is showed as just “c”).
Is there a way to solve it?

That is not an allowed character in tags.

Thanks for the reply. Is there a workaround to solve it?
There’s no supported way to get unsupported characters into tags, no.
The only solution is to change your tags to use supported characters.

I’d really like to tag by price range, like $, $$, $$$, and $$$$. I can see those characters are not supported in tags, but is there any path, including custom development? I imagine lots of forums could use $ tags if they were allowed.

Changing to cpp
might be an option.
