Allow guest to Post in Topic

Hello! More forums have group rules and admin can allow create topic or messages in topic for the guest, I know Discourse use trust level and don’t have classic permission for group, so it’s possible?

You can also use groups to allow who can read, reply to and create a topic.

Categories have create, reply, read permissions. If you have reply enabled then users in that group can reply to existing topics.

Yes, but how to set permission for the “guest”? What is a group name?

See the link in the post above mine. It explains groups. “everyone” is all users (including not logged in users).

Wait wait though. That doesn’t mean anon can Post: You still have to have an account to Post?

Right. Perhaps I wasnt’ paying attention. Or just didn’t understand the request.

Users who are NOT logged in cannot post. This cannot be changed.

You could maybe build a plugin to allow users to enter an email at the same time as posting, and use the email to create a Staged User and attribute the post to the Staged User.

That’s a fair amount of work to do nicely, but go for it!
